2007 IMSA Convention: At a Glance
The Convention was very well attended and started with a lovely reception and registration event on Friday, May 25, 2007.
The CME program on the morning of May 26, was a great success and was presented by highly qualified IMSA medical professionals in different medical specialties. In the afternoon, we were entertained by The Safaafir Band, an Iraqi American Maqaam Band. The function drew a big crowd of our members and their families and was a great entertainment event.
The Gala on Saturday night was the highlight of the Convention and was attended by more than 400 people. The Al-Ajras Band gave an excellent performance that drew several rounds of applause.
A fashion show was organized and presented by members of the Women Axillary in the Washington DC area. It was very well done and reflected the diversity of Iraq and it’s colorful ethnic background.
On May 27, 2007, a general assembly meeting was conducted and was well attended by the active IMSA members. This was followed by a Brunch for our members and their families in the main restaurant at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
