IMSA Membership Categories

Persons who are graduates of Iraqi colleges of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and veterinary medicine and basic sciences and persons of Iraqi descent who are graduates of recognized colleges in the above fields outside Iraq.

Active members have to pay yearly dues to maintain their active status. Active members are the final source of all rights in the organization. These rights include:

  • Election of members of the Board of Directors
  • Hold office in the organization
  • Approval of the minutes of the General Assembly meetings & budget
  • Approval of changes to the dues
  • Approval of Honorary Members
  • Approval of amendments to the Bylaws

Persons of Iraqi descent who are medical students, graduate students in basic sciences and medical residents in training.

Associate members do not have the right to vote or hold office in the Association.

Persons of Iraqi descent with outstanding contributions to science, and to civic society. Honorary members are nominated by the Board of Directors and confirmed by the active members in a General Assembly meeting.

Honorary members do not have the right to vote or hold office.

   

Persons who are committed to the attainment of IMSA’s objectives and who help organize and prepare its meetings and functions.

Auxiliary members are encouraged to participate in general discussions but do not have the right to vote or hold office.
